Q - I need a replacement recycling bin for my home. What can I do ?
A - Logansport residents who need to replace a recycling container should contact the Department of Public Works at (574) 753-4610. All other area residents who have a recycling bin that needs to be replaced should contact their trash vendor.
Q - I am going to be doing a roofing project that requires a roll off container for material. Who can I call?
A - Republic Services/Wabash Valley: 800-989-2539 or Waste Management: 888-253-5660.
Q - I need to get some information, including fees, concerning the Oak Ridge Landfill. How can I reach them?

Q - Is glass recyclable?
A - The simple answer in this area is not really. Essentially any glass that has had a food product in it can be recycled and can be placed in a recycling container. Other glass, including windows and shower doors, has additives in it and can't be recycled at our facility.
Q - I have an old television I need to dispose of. Can you help me?
A - Yes. The Cass
County Solid Waste Management District offers five day a week
electronic collection for area residents. You must first
contact the district office at (574) 732-9253 to make an
appointment. We are located at 518 High St. (Downtown). We will not pick up electronics. They must be
delivered after making an appointment.
Q - How can I properly dispose of tires?
A - In the past, the district has hosted a tire amnesty day. In 2013, the Solid Waste District Board voted to take tires from area residents five days a week; by appointment. That ran from mid April until the beginning of August. We are planning on bringing back the program next year as well. If you need to dispose of tires before then, you can contact a local dealer or the vendor we use; Leffler Tire in Peru.
Q - I have some old paint. How can I get rid of it?
A - A lot of the paint that is used by area residents is Latex, which is water based. If you are unable to give it to someone else to use, you can dry it out and leave the lid off, and dispose of it with your regular trash. Kitty litter will help dry it out. Oil based paint needs to be taken to our HHW Day, which is in October.
Q - Where are the roll off recycling containers in Cass County?
A - The 4-H Fairgrounds, Pioneer Elementary in Royal Center, behind the Christian Church in Walton, the wastewater plant in Galveston, and at 350s/50E behind the Industrial Park, and in Twelve Mile at the old elevator.
Q - What can I put in a Logansport recycling container or in a roll off bin?
A - Paper, cardboard, plastics (number 1-7), glass bottles and jars, aluminum and tin cans. Window glass, kitchen ware are not acceptable. Please break down all boxes.
Q - What can I do with motor oil?
A - Small quantities can be taken to our oil recycling site behind the Ben Long Center in Logansport. Larger quantities should be taken to our HHW Day in October.
