About 20 years ago, the Cass County Recycling District provided funding for the City of Logansport to purchase a Tub Grinder, which is used to create mulch. The mulch is available to the public. The CCRD annually funds some maintenance
for the program.
The Logansport Department of Public Works will pick up yard debris, including leaves, grass, and small trimmings. It must be placed in a 2-ply, biodegradable, 30-gallon bag that may be purchased at several local stores. Pickup is on the regular trash
day by the Department of Public Works yard waste truck. Yard waste will not be picked up if it is placed in a plastic bag. Yard waste collection is from April 1st -November 30th and is on a call-in basis at all other times.
Non-city residents may deliver their yard waste to the compost site by making an appointment with the Department of Public Works at 574-753-4610.
